Liz Mealey is a Los Angeles based DP, Writer/Director, and producer originally from the East Coast. She earned her MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles in 2024. Prior to attending AFI, Liz lensed and co-produced two New York independent award-winning features: the documentary More Than Academics, and dark comedy Broke Boi. Since graduating from AFI Liz has won multiple awards for cinematography for her thesis film The Apple Picker's Son, and a poetic short she also wrote and directed, Opalescent.

In 2025, Liz founded the production company Mycelium Media to produce her own works as well as uplift the voices of many collaborators. As an artist-activist, Liz is passionate about stories that inspire radical imagination.
